Known issues

• Battery capacity loss and reduced electric range after 80,000+ miles; degradation accelerates if not regularly charged or deep-cycled
• High-voltage charging system failures, including faulty charging port and onboard charger malfunctions (costly €2,000–€4,000 repairs)
• Timing chain tensioner wear on the 3.0L turbocharged petrol engine, causing rattle on cold starts; requires full timing chain replacement (€3,500–€5,500)
• DSG 8-speed automatic gearbox judder and hesitation during low-speed acceleration or gear changes, particularly when transitioning between electric and petrol modes
• 12V auxiliary battery drain issues caused by parasitic loads from hybrid electronics; premature failure common on older units
• Water ingress into the high-voltage battery enclosure and electrical connector corrosion in the engine bay, leading to intermittent fault codes
