Known issues

• Battery degradation and reduced electric-only range after 80,000+ km; 8–12% capacity loss typical by 5 years
• High-voltage battery thermal management system faults causing limp-mode operation and expensive module replacement (€3,500–€6,000)
• Charging port/onboard charger intermittent faults; slow charging or inability to charge from domestic socket
• Hybrid electric motor and power electronics overheating in warm climates, triggering warning lights and reduced performance
• DSG 8-speed transmission shuddering during low-speed hybrid mode transitions, particularly when battery is depleted
• Fuel injector carbon deposits despite GDI; poor cold-start behaviour and hesitation in petrol mode after long electric-only periods

Good for

• Low running costs in urban/commute use if charged daily; electric-only operation eliminates fuel and emissions for short trips
• Smooth, responsive acceleration from combined petrol and electric torque (286–340 PS depending on variant)
• Excellent NVH refinement; electric motor masks engine noise and vibration, particularly in stop-start traffic
• Strong residual value for low-mileage examples with full service history and no battery degradation reported
