Known issues

• Timing chain rattle on cold start, particularly in B48 petrol engines (1.5L turbo) — requires chain tensioner inspection and potential replacement (€800–1,200)
• Direct injection carbon buildup causing rough idle, hesitation, and reduced fuel economy — requires walnut blasting or chemical cleaning (€400–800)
• Electrical gremlins including intermittent infotainment system failures, battery drain issues, and module coding errors — can be time-consuming to diagnose
• High-pressure fuel pump failure causing hard starting or stalling, more common in early production runs — replacement €600–1,000
• Turbocharger lag and occasional boost loss, especially in 2.0L B48 variants — turbo overhaul or replacement €1,200–2,000
• Water pump failure around 80,000 km — replacement €300–500 as preventative maintenance is recommended
