Known issues

• DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) clogging and regeneration issues, particularly in stop-start urban driving; can result in expensive cleaning or replacement (€800–€1,500)
• EGR valve carbon build-up causing rough idle, loss of power, and emissions fault codes
• Timing chain tensioner wear on B47 engine; premature wear reported from ~80,000 miles; can lead to chain rattle and catastrophic damage if ignored
• Turbocharger variable geometry actuator sticking, causing loss of boost and performance
• AdBlue system faults and sensor issues; incorrect readings or system refusal to start if level low
• Electrical gremlins: window regulators, door latch sensors, and DSC (stability control) module faults

Good for

• Fuel efficiency: real-world combined figures of 45–50 mpg when driven sensibly, competitive running costs vs petrol variants
