Known issues

• Carbon build-up on direct-injection valves leading to rough idle, hesitation, and reduced power—often requires walnut blasting (€400–€600)
• DSG dual-clutch gearbox judder or hesitation on low-speed manoeuvres and parking, especially in cold weather
• Timing chain tensioner wear causing rattle on cold starts; can lead to chain slip if ignored (€1,500–€2,200 repair)
• PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system issues resulting in oil sludge build-up and engine sludge
• Electrical gremlins including infotainment screen freezing, CAN bus faults, and intermittent warning lights
• Thermostat housing coolant leaks, particularly around 60,000–80,000 miles
