Known issues

• DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) clogging and regeneration issues, particularly on low-mileage or short-journey vehicles; requires expensive cleaning or replacement (€800–€1,500)
• EGR valve carbon build-up causing rough idle, loss of power, and limp-mode activation; common around 80,000–120,000 km
• Electrical gremlins including dashboard warning light false positives, infotainment system freezing, and occasional battery drain issues
• Turbocharger bearing wear causing whistling noises and reduced boost pressure; more common on vehicles with poor oil change intervals
• Fuel injector deposits and intermittent misfiring on cold starts; direct injection engines prone to carbon accumulation
