Known issues

• Carbon build-up on direct-injection petrol valves causing rough idle and reduced fuel economy (typically 80k+ miles)
• DSG 6/7-speed gearbox occasional hesitation on low-speed manoeuvres or judder during gear changes
• High-pressure fuel pump failures (rare but expensive €800–€1,200 including labour)
• Water ingress into headlight assemblies causing condensation and electrical gremlins
• Timing chain tensioner rattle on cold start (design feature, not always a defect but causes concern)
• 12V battery drain issues due to faulty auxiliary modules
