Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) regeneration issues and blocked filters, especially on low-mileage urban driving; can require expensive cleaning or replacement (€800–€1,500)
• EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve carbon build-up and occasional failure, particularly on earlier 3.0 TDI units
• Diesel injector deposits and occasional rough idle or starting hesitation in cold weather; cleaning may be required
• Turbocharger lag and rare turbo bearing wear on higher-mileage examples; turbo replacement is costly (€1,500–€2,500)
• AdBlue fluid consumption issues on some units; sensor malfunction can trigger warning lights and limp mode
